Where is the World's Largest Swimming pool?

Where is the World's Largest Swimming pool?

The Crystal Lagoon at San Alfonso del Mar resort, Chile is the world's largest swimming pool. It is 3,233 feet long, 115 feet deep, holds 66 million gallons of crystal  clear sea water, and is estimated to be equivalent to 20 Olympic size swimming pools.

This swimming pool is so big that tourists ride boats on it and even learn how to scuba dive in it! Not bad for an incredible swimming pool!

Completed in December 2006, engineers took almost 5 years to build it, with an estimated cost of construction of £1billion. The operating and maintenance yearly cost of this swimming pool is estimated to be £2million a year.

Makes you wonder how this swimming pool can maintain crystal clear water in any given day and how many Pool Technicians are needed to vacuum its floor and brush its walls.

Well, this swimming pool has a computerized filtration system that sucks sea water and filters it, keeps the seawater in circulation in the swimming pool and then returns the filtered seawater back to the sea.

This is a swimming pool that  architects and engineers should visit so they can learn how to design and build incredible eco-friendly swimming pools like it.
