Swimming pool Faq's (Frequently Asked Questions) Online

Dear Readers,

It's been years since I last posted in this blog http://swimmingpoolfaq.blogspot.com. because the last time that I posted my ideas here no one really gave a crap about them. It's hard to write about something that you love and are good at, when few listen to or appreciate what you have to say.  This blog was an epic waste of time, that's what I told myself.

Professionally, I have been helping architects, engineers and swimming pool owners fix their swimming pools for decades in the Philippines. I have  managed the swimming pool properties of  corporations, embassies, International schools, universities and resorts in the Philippines. Together with Judo and martial arts, constructing and fixing swimming pools are my passions, legacies that I had inherited from my father.

Given  my experience I decided to make this blog seven (7) years ago. I thought that swimming pool owners deserved to have a knowledge base whenever they had trouble constructing, fixing and maintaining their swimming pools. Building, maintaining, and owning a swimming pool is a commitment just like maintaining an expensive sports car. It's a work in progress. This is why I believed  that swimming pool owners needed every tool and assistance available to them, especially in the Internet, to solve swimming pool problems that they faced.

A good idea, lost in time. An epic waste of time. That's what I thought.

The funny thing is that last week, while I was editing one of my websites, I decided to take a look at my old swimming pool FAQ blog.  And, to my surprise, people from many walks of life, all over the world, and not just Filipinos, gave a number of positive comments and reviews about it.

I was wrong.

And you, dear readers, are right. This blog was not an epic waste of time. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

Humbled, I realized that pride, my weakness got the better of me seven (7) years ago. I had given up a great many good things in my life because of pride, and this blog was just one of them.

Thank you for your kind comments and suggestions. Because of you, I will continue to contribute more information in this blog. I will answer your swimming pool FAQ's the best I can, given my limited abilities.

And, in the process, we could make every swimming pool in the world a happier and safer place for swimming! =)

Best regards,

Where is the World's Largest Swimming pool?

Where is the World's Largest Swimming pool?

The Crystal Lagoon at San Alfonso del Mar resort, Chile is the world's largest swimming pool. It is 3,233 feet long, 115 feet deep, holds 66 million gallons of crystal  clear sea water, and is estimated to be equivalent to 20 Olympic size swimming pools.

This swimming pool is so big that tourists ride boats on it and even learn how to scuba dive in it! Not bad for an incredible swimming pool!

Completed in December 2006, engineers took almost 5 years to build it, with an estimated cost of construction of £1billion. The operating and maintenance yearly cost of this swimming pool is estimated to be £2million a year.

Makes you wonder how this swimming pool can maintain crystal clear water in any given day and how many Pool Technicians are needed to vacuum its floor and brush its walls.

Well, this swimming pool has a computerized filtration system that sucks sea water and filters it, keeps the seawater in circulation in the swimming pool and then returns the filtered seawater back to the sea.

This is a swimming pool that  architects and engineers should visit so they can learn how to design and build incredible eco-friendly swimming pools like it.
